THE GHOST HUNT OF YORK

We had a wonderful night
last week with the ghost hunt of York, the gentleman is in
character from the beginning, we met at the shambles in the
centre of York he seemed quite frightening at first in a fun
way, then as the evening went on he became funnier and funnier,
we travelled around several destinations around the city and
heard some sad stories on how people were treated in the old
days and got a sense of history the audience are encouraged to
join in and that is part of the fun, and this made you
comfortable with your own group, the tour took 1 hour 15 minutes
and was just right, an amazing amount of thought has gone into
planning this ghost hunt and you never feel that it has been
done hundreds of times it really made our trip worthwhile many
thanks.
I took a group of young
Australians and New Zealanders on the tour, all in the 18-30 age
bracket, and we had a blast. Very funny stuff, maintaining an
atmospheric and spooky edge. Great for all ages, there were
children and OAPs on our tour and it was enjoyed by all!
Definitely worth a go.

“The
Highlight of our break in York - A must!
We had the intention of
taking part in a Ghost Walk, but with no real preference of
which guide to use. If your going to take a Ghost Walk - use
this one!! This was without doubt, the funniest hour and a
quarter we had on on our break. The walk is easily manageable
for the young and elderly and not designed to frighten, but
entertain. The guide was professional and didn't break into a
smile for the entire tour. He works on group participation and
there is one hilarious "sketch" at a restaurant. This is well
worth 75 mins of your time - it's great value and great fun.
Went on the ghost hunt on
sat 8th August. the guide was very good at playing his part.
Dressed in top hat, cape and doctors bag. He carried a smalll
step ladder with him so that we could all see him, he had a very
clear voice and was easily heard by all. This walk is not all
doom and gloom, and has some very funny moments, if you are
after a more serious ghost walk then this is not for you.
suitable for children. The walk itself lasts for approx 1hour 30
mins. If you visit their website you can print money off
vouchers. You get a ghost walk and a bargain to boot. We all
enjoyed the walk and our ages ranged from 10 year to 68 years
My husband and I and two
kids aged 9 & 11 took this tour on 17 July 2009 when we were on
holiday from Australia. We really had no clue what we were in
for and it certainly wasn't like campfire ghost stories. But it
was so funny and entertaining. It is slapstick comedy. If you
don't have a sense of fun and are going along as a serious
collector of ghost stories, then, as I have seen from some other
reviews, you probably won't like it. My kids had as much fun on
the 'ghosthunt' as they did a whole day at Blackpool Tower. For
me, watching my kids laughing and having fun is contagious, if
you're the same, take this tour.
I organised a private
booking for my husband's 6oth birthday. There were 19 of us and
all of us loved the ghost walk. I've lived in York all my life
and never tried it before. I would recommend the tour to anyone
, any age, great fun, good ghost stories, give it a try! Thanks
Andy
We went on the ghost hunt on Friday 19th June and
had an excellent time. Humour mixed with the ghostly tales set the right tone
for a Friday Night's entertainment. Props were used to illustrate, audience
members encouraged to join in and we really enjoyed it. Having never been on
such a walk before I was unsure of what to expect but I uld definitely recommend
this experience.
“fantasticly funny
with ghostly giggles"
Whilst on our holidays in
nearby Pickering, myself, wife son(6 years old -going on 60)
were looking for some way to spend our evening which would
entertain 2 old misery guts and a 6 year old that never stays
still for 5 minutes. After feeling we had been robbed blind by
going to see many of York's famous attractions this needed to be
good and we were not let down, our son was fascinated by the
stories he heard and watched in delight with the showmanship. We
had a good laugh and were shocked as well. The fun element was
always there so we did not have to listen to a monotone guide as
the norm drone on and on and on. We have been to York many times
and our son has already said he wants to go on this ghost hunt
again. We highly recommend this hunt to every one. Great for
family and children, you will love it. many thanks, Craig,
Caroline and Daniel. Barrow in Furness Cumbria
An Absolute Must
Did the ghost hunt on Sunday 17th May 09 and it
is the best £5 you will spend on your entire stay in York. The stories are
accurate, they're not meant to be scary, just make you think. The walk is very
funny from start to finish and Andy our host is an absolute master at making you
laugh. Thank you for a great 75 minutes Andy, brilliant
Way more entertaining than we had dared to
hope! The family went on the Ghost Hunt, starting at the Shambles, and we all had
an amazing night! Far better than we expected, the Walk was more like street
theatre, it was extremely funny, and scary in equal measures, but suitable for
the whole family, including a notoriously nervous 8 year old, who still sneaked
her way boldly right up to the front at each stop!! The Guide was absolutely
fantastic, he kept the crowd absolutely enthralled from the moment he paced up
the cobbles of the Shambles, until the very last. A truly memorable evening, and
by far and away the best value entertainment we have had in a long long time
This was a great addition
to our weekend in York...a good mixture of story and
humour...kept our 8 year old very happy and more than amused
sceptical ancient parents...would have spent a lot more for such
a good time at the theatre...recommend to anyone.

“A Fantastic
experience - The Ghost Hunt of York”
My husband and I have done many ghost tours
around the country, but the ghost tour of York is by far the best.
Andy's unique style of presentation was very interesting and compelling, as well
as amusing. His tales will keep you gripped throughout the hour and a bit walk.
He will even invite you for a friendly drink afterwards to talk about ghosts and
your own experiences!!!
10/10 - I cannot recommend it enough, great value entertainment and not to be
missed if you visit York.
Fantastically entertaining and lively interactive
experience! What a fantastically entertaining and lively interactive experience!
This is not just a ghost hunt, its over an hour of adventure, comedy,
mischievous tricks, haunting stories and practical jokes! This provides a
talking point for hours afterwards, I would recommend it as the best experience
of York that is possible in your visit! This really is a must on anybody's
itinerary, don't fall for the other boring ghost walks, this is the world-beater
of them all!
14th Sept 2008
York - apparently the most haunted city in the
world ,so no trip would-be complete without a ghost walk! But with so many to
chose from, it can be daunting to pick the right one! The thing is, no matter
how good the leader of any ghost hunt is, they can't make ghosts appear on cue!
So this particular ghost walk is without doubt, THE BEST entertainment you can
get for £5. I can honestly say that this walk made our stay in York. I have never
laughed so much for 75 minutes! Andy, the fantastic entertainer who led our
walk, was superb and the tales he told were historically accurate (we checked!).
And the hilarity at the Italian restaurant.........!!!!
Thank you so much for one of the best memories
you could have given us!
Joolz and Andy from
Norwich.
Wayne & Janet
We went on your tour on Sunday20th and enjoyed it very much, we
even went back next day to see where the girl had fallen from the top of the
stairs!(it WAS a long way down!).Thanks! Ally & Martin
12 May 2008
Would like to say what a brilliant evening
we had. I have lived in York for 20 years but have never been on a haunted walk
but with 19 other friends it seemed like the ideal opportunity and we all had a
great time.
Thank you for a most entertaining evening, it was
a really fun way to end what had been for us a brilliant day!
Sincerely
Louise Clarke
6 May 2008
I went to York by myself and had a fantastic
time. It's a beautiful city and I wasn't planning on participating in
Shambles the ghost hunt but I'm truly happy I did, so worth it. Andrew,
our host was amazing the way he kept everyone's attention even though the
weather wasn't the greatest. Something else I really appreciated was that
he invited everyone to join him at the pub for a drink afterwards so we got to
know our host a bit better and it was a great way to meet others as well.
I highly recommend it to everyone who goes to York. Thanks again!

I just had to contact you and thank you for a
brilliant experience on the ghost hunt. It was very funny, yet quite sinister
and scary! We thoroughly enjoyed it and it was the topic of conversation
for a while afterwards! I would recommend it to anyone as the best of all
the rest!

Hi
Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed the
ghost hunt on Sunday . It was a very cold evening but no one seemed to mind
that. We were thoroughly entertained.

Dear Andy,
just a quick email to say thank you from myself
and the pupils for the Ghost Walk on Wed 13th Feb. Our guide was fantastic, and
if you could pass on our thanks to him I would really appreciate it.
I am hoping to do the same visit again sometime,
and I will definately be getting back in contact with you to organise another
Walk.
Once again, thanks for the walk, the kids all
said it was one of the highlights of the visit,
All the best,
Richard Ayre.
To sum this evening up in three words, fantastic, interesting
and funny what more can I say. Well worth the money and great for familys as
well.
Prior to arriving in York, we had heard from several
sources that the Ghost Hunt of York was the best of the ghost walks. We are so
glad we followed that advice. Our whole family really enjoyed Andy and his
antics. He was quite entertaining and kept everyone enthralled throughout the
walking tour of the haunted sites of York. Thanks, Andy!

What a fantastic evening we had, altogether there were four of us but were
joined by around 100 others, very humorous, very informative and the joke at
caesars was hilarious, we came to visit York to specifically join the hunt and
were not disappointed, even though the weather threatened. will be recommending
to everyone visiting York. Thanks once again for a wonderfully, fun evening.

My husband and I went on the Ghost Hunt of York located on the Shambles at
7:30pm. Dan was our host and he made the entire hour and half more than
entertaining. His delivery and total control of the audience was great. This part
of our trip to England has been made very memorable by going on your tour. My
husband being from the South just north of London has never been to the North in
39 years. So my encouragement to venture into a new territory was most enjoyable
for the both of us. Thanks so much and I will encourage anyone else I know who
is planning a trip to England to visit the historic town of York and go on the
Ghost Hunt tour at the Shambles at half past seven.

Dear Andy
I would just like to thank you for the marvellous Ghost Walk we experienced
yesterday. The students had spent a long day in York and we starting to get cold
and tired but our guide, Dan, soon snapped them out of it. He was excellent,
very entertaining, we laughed, we screamed, we were spooked and some of us even
cried - the don't like blood!!!!! I can't remember the last time i laughed as
much as i did throughout the whole of the walk. The students loved it and that
was all they talked about on the journey home, some even got his autograph.
I will certainly recommend your walk to others I talk to it was brilliant.

Hey Andrew,
in case you've forgotten, this is your erstwhile friend in Malaysia. Just a
little note to thank you (again) for the wonderful experience. Truly, it was a
spectacular treat. How was the night after? As I remember it, it was truly
dismal display of England's wettest.
All being said and done, I have waxed lyrical over your little walk. In fact,
I think my friends are already fed up with me. And I truly hope that you and
your partner fare well in your peculiar brand of macabre mayhem.
As for me, I'm back to the grindstone and wishing every moment that I was
still in York. By the way, the museum and the Assembly Rooms were magnificent.
Tried getting into Holy Trinity, but for some weird reason, the gates were
locked. Oh well, let's hope there's a next time.
Do keep in touch.

was of them. Sorry, but not surprised. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Hi,
I had the pleasure of being a Ghosthunter last night 28th May. I just wanted
to say that of all the Ghost walks I have been on in York yours was the best and
most entertaining of them all.
I will recommend to anyone should they go to York, they choose you for thier
evening Ghosthunt.
I am also Assistant District Commissioner Beaver Scouts for the Scout
District of Crompton and Royton and will mention you at the next meeting.
Various Scout Groups from our District visit York during the Year so I'll make
sure they know about you before they go.
Thanks for a great evenings entertainment and some of the stories were sad
which gives a good mix of emotion.

wish we had taken the cam-corder along to record it for nephews & nieces. We
came across Dan Dent with a privately booked party while en-route to The

be on our walk. We would thoroughly recommend this to anyone visiting the area.

showmanship. My father, Jack Danielson said he hazed/heckled you in good fun and
that you were an excellent host and sport. He asked me to send you some links of

We participated in the York Ghost Hunt on 10th October 2001 and thoroughly
enjoyed it. It was recommended to us by a local barman who commented on the
practical joke side which Andy made hunters do and it just so happened that the
humorous task the barman was asked to do that Scott was picked for. Scott has
since decided to take trumpet lessons. Anyway, the whole evening was most
enjoyable and thanks for suggesting the drinking session afterwards and enabling
us to meet some of the other Ghost Hunters. Take care from the both of us way up

Thank you, whatever your name is.
My partner and I have now been on your walk twice now.
On the first occasion we thought you were great and this time you were
better!
Our two daughters loved your character and when then saw you at your market
stall on Saturday morning they were too shy to say hello.
We also went on two other walks while we were there:
"The Ghost Detective" and "Mad Molly"
Both were entertaining but they failed to play the part for the entire
performance which really let the whole thing down. You need to be in character
for the whole time to really deliver a special result.
You mixture of humour and authority along with your desire to make sure all
of the children were included really made this something special for all of the
family.
Please include any of this on any other part of the site, if it is of any use
to you.
All the best for the winter and thanks.

Hey Andy,
I came on the ghost hunt on Thursday 18th Oct with my Mum and Dad. At first I
was terrified as this scary, lip curling, bell ringing ghosty man appeared from
the dark ally! But, I soon realised I'd be fine on this hunt - even if you were
really that scary, we all had to stand so close to each other I knew I'd be
safe!
I thought all the ghost stories were great. Your humour is fantastic and your
delivery is spot on.
We also enjoyed the drink in The Swan afterwards. It nicely ended a great
evening and began a lovely weekend in York. It also gave us the opportunity to
realise you are not really a scary, lip curling ghosty man - you are just very
good at your job.
Keep up the good work, Mr ......Unimportant,

produced and well worth every penny. We can and will recommend your Ghost Hunt
to all our friends back home. We will be coming to York from Redditch again in
the early part of next Year and will again join you at the Shambles. Happy ghost
hunting Paul and Sam Taylor.

My girlfriend and I took your tour (with Andy Dextrous, I believe) back in
October. We're just a couple of poor American backpackers (I know, I
know...backpackers!), but I can honestly say we both had a blast. We've taken
tours all over England and Ghost Hunt surpassed them all. If/when we come back,
we'll stay in York and take the tour again. Now . . . where exactly do you keep
that full glass of wine while you're walking around?

We first went on the ghost hunt on a visit to York when we lived in
Manchester. We really enjoyed it and encouraged 8 others to go on the hunt. They
loved it too. We liked York so much that we moved here last Christmas and one of
the first things we did was go on the ghost hunt again! It was just as hilarious
and entertaining the second time round. It all depends on the group you are
with. The guides are extremely professional and amusing. Dee Chris and Siobhan.

Hi. I came last April & it scared me to peices!! My whole group had
trouble sleeping that night. Now, as a freshman in College and taking a History

and the oldest street in York. Thanks to this, I've been there and experienced
the fright.

Dear Mr. Unimportant Thank you for a very entertaining evening last Friday,
February 22nd. Despite the cold and windy conditions, the walk around York was
the highlight of our weekend. Adam (age 8) has shown all his friends his
souvenir bloodstained hankerchief, a very fine lacy one I must add. We will be
talking about this for a long time to come, and recommending the walk to our

What can I say....? If there's one thing in life I love, it's to laugh!! We
were late but fortunately found you with your captive audience in time to join
and hunt. I giggled like a kid! Your Ghost Hunt was informative, witty, very
professional and above all amusing to the end. It was especially nice that you
took the time to take us to the pub and even drank mineral water cos let's face
it ... if you took every alcoholic drink offered you'd be a drunk guide! My
partner and I had "the best time" and your hunt made our short stay in
York! Keep hunting Mr Dextrous .... yours truly Sam and Nick ( 7th March 2002,

Andy I came along on one of your walks back in, I think, October or November
1999. I have never forgotten the sheer enjoyment of the experience and have told
many, many others about it. Its all still vivid in my mind - not least when you
medically examined me, told me that I was dead and, on my immediate request for
a refund, said, with magnificent disdain, that you hadn't given me a speaking
part! Also the rush across the road to the restaurant, which was just something
else. As I told you at the time, its as much your sense of timing as your sense
of humour which makes it all such a treat. I hope you are going from success to
success. Adrian Lewis

Mr. Addyman, the guesthouse host, recommended the 'Ghost hunt'to me as soon
as I arrived on Thursday 28 March 2002. By 7pm, there I was, on my way to the
Shambles. Little did I know it was going to be a fabulous evening! When Andy
arrived, ringing his bell, he stood in the middle of the street starring at me.
It made me feel apprehensive of what was next to come. But his amazing look and
costume let me thought it was going to be an exciting evening. As we made our
way through the Shambles, one could feel the excitement of the crowd hurrying
behind Andy, making sure not to lose a second of what was happening. Nervous
laughter, whispers or even screams could be heard as all walked through tiny
dark alleyways...giving you shivers in the back. But all soon to be replaced by
hilarity as we all pulled faces at the customers of the Italian restaurant! The
tour finally ended in a very lovely pub, where few 'ghost's hunters' exchanged
theirs comments enjoying a nice drink. This truly funny and entertaining
adventure was to be the start of a fantastic weekend in York. I enjoyed the
'Ghost hunt' so much that I was back on the tour on the Saturday. That evening,
due to the numbers of 'hunters' attending the walk, Andy was sharing the tour
with his partner in crime, another horror man, Dan, which made the tour even
more entertaining as much more interactive. Just few words to conclude: thank
you for an unforgetable experience! Armelle Leclef, London.

I have been on the Ghost Hunt twice, and I enjoyed it just as much (or maybe
even more) the second time. It's such a great thing that I couldn't make a guess
at the number of people I have recommended it to, but the number probably would
still be too low. And there's one thing I just have to repeat: Andy Dextrous,
your face is the ideal face for the Ghost Hunt Guide. You really look like
someone from the beginning of last century, and in my country people would
probably describe it as a grave-digger's face, which would only serve to make it
the more effective for the job. This is a compliment. Honest. Would I have come
twice otherwise?

Dear Mr Andy Dextrous, Last Sunday the 19th of May I attended your ghost hunt
together with five friends, we could all conclude that it was the highlight of
our stay in York. We will definitely recommend it to other people. I already
did, but it was hard to describe what it was like. I'd say exciting, fun, scary,
interesting, mysterious and probably one of the best things to do while being in
York or England! People look at me weird, saying - it's just a ghost walk! No
it's not, but I guess they will have to experience it themselves.
I was a bit scared of you when you almost strangled me! See you again,

The exact day of the "Ghost Hunt" is currently a mystery to me.
Sometime last week, possibly the Wednesday... maybe the Friday... maybe not. I
could spend a while waiting for my memory to provide clarification but I'm not a
patient chap. Which is probably why I enjoyed myself so much. The hour and a
quarter was well paced, interesting and above all else, hilarious. The inclusion
of the audience and the way in such, created a feeling of excitement and
trepidation that is lacking in most events of this kind. Time and my train flew
by as the tour came to an end and really, this is to thank you, Andy, for the
best hour and a quarter of my holiday.

We visited York in October, and really wondered which ghost hunt to go on as
there are so many on offer. In the end, we decided to go on this ghost hunt, and
had a thrilling and entertaining evening as a result, with the younger hunter.
We had an extra delight the following day, when wandering York we happened
across the same gentleman performing such wonders as fire-eating and whipping
pieces of paper blindfolded. We would like to thank you for such an enjoyable
evening and assure you that any frields visiting York will be recommended the
same. Andrew and Katherine Boldon Tyne & Wear PS We also enjoyed the pub you

We really enjoyed our chat with Andy in the pub last night on our visit to
York. We have been on other ghost tours in York and can honestly say that The
Ghost Hunt is the most entertaining. We now wish we'd gone out with you again
rather than trying out the opposition, but, like the Roman Centurian in the
cellar, we will return! Best wishes to you both. Mark & Joanne from Ilkeston,

I did your ghost walk in 1998 with a friend and I really enjoyed it, I am
very interested in ghosts and would love to see one. I have done many ghost walk
all over the country and your was one of the best. I even ended up in the pub
with the group on the walk. Has anyone had any ghostly experiences while on the
walk? Please let me know, my name is Pat and I live in Birmingham. I would
really want to go on a ghost hunt, please let me know via the guestbook if
anyone would like to meet with me for ghost hunting.

T'was the night of Valentines Day, while most were enjoying candle lit
dinners by warm log burning fires - a select few of only the bravest endured
temperatures that would make a polar bear cry. Forget the poncy, lovey dovey
dinners, we wanted stories that make us tremble, that would scare the soul, that
would curdle the blood ! And so we joined the tour, with the moon and stars
shining down - oh and the Worlds Slowest Firework clearly visable. The tour was
fantastic - a witty mixture of stories and comedy....MUST NOT BE MISSED. p.s.

My wife and I took the Ghost Hunt in Sept. 2002 on a cold and rainy night.
Dan was our spirt guide. He walks the walk and talks the talk. A great
experience for the both of us. He played off my wife and was shocked by her
quick and snappy returns. A great time. She still has the bloody hankerchief
given her by Dan. We should have something like that here in Los Angeles,

I and our party of six went on the ghost hunt on Sun 27th April 2003. A truly
excellent experience highly enjoyable. Indeed it was after being on a previous
walk in 1998 that we returned this time. All of our party left feeling we had
really experienced the best one of Yorks many quality attractions and Mr
Dextrous performance was fantastic. So glad I wasn't singled out ! We feel a
need to congratulate JEFF also. The tall scouse bloke on our hunt who through
the sheer embarrasment of being so publicly singled out made it a night to
remember. Such a good sport. Thanks again, Neil,Vicki,Sally.Rodrigo,Alan &

evening. Our host was nothing short of excellent, informative, and very funny.
If you are reading this, thinking "shall I shan't I..." The only
advice we can give, DO THE GHOST HUNT, from The Shambles. After the hunt, we
joined a our host for a drink, and were joined by an American couple, and
Australian couple who had been on the hunt. It was a very pleasent end to the
day. Once again, Thank you Paul & Bev Butler Weeting Norflok.

Hi. Was on your walk last night (Sunday 13th July 2003) and whilst it was an
entertaining experience I felt that the "ghost" side of things was
fitted around the "entertainment". I think all in all we were told 4
tales of ghosts that took approx 5 mins each. Definately entertaining but as for
a "ghost walk", I think not.

I do not wish to offend, but feel I must comment on your Ghost walk. Though I
have not actually been on it myself, I have spent the past half hour on this
website, and cry at what I have read. I am a proffessional medium, and stumbled
across this site purely by accident. I would like to say to you, that if you
advertise a ghost walk, it should be just that. NOT PURELY for entertainment,
but conducted by people who know something about the afterlife. Like I said, I
dont want to offend, but pleaser take note of what I have said, and all the best
to you

My daughter and I went on the Ghost Hunt on Saturday night (23rd August
2003). It was the night after her birthday, and she (being a budding goth) was
looking forward to it very much. It did not disappoint! We had a fantastic time.
We laughed all the way, even when we weren't supposed to be! The guide was
fantastic, especially when handling 'Liverpool' (a middle-aged, worse-for-drink
'lady'). The patter was great, the stories interesting and the jokes very droll!
Well done guys, we'll be back with more people next time, and have already
recommended your tour to at least a dozen people! Thanks for making my
daughter's birthday weekend a memorable one. Oh, and one thing... we remember
the railings!

Dear Andy Anonymous: My daughter and I enjoyed the hell (so to speak) out of
your Ghost Hunt. My favorite town on our England trip was York and I'd travel
around the world again in a heartbeat (yes, it still does, but after chasing
ghosts, with palpitations) to stroll the Shambles again. What a great place!
What a great way to make a living! And no, we don't have a dungeon in our
basement here in Idaho. :) Gail Frasier

Hello I was on the Ghost walk on the 12th Jan with Andy Dextrous and there
were only 5 of us on this walk. Andy said it was the smallest group he had ever
taken! It was great fun and yours truly was singled out constantly for fun and
games. The walks are interesting, funny, spooky , tragic tales and well worth
the £3 for a nights entertainment. Andy asked me to take a look at the site and
give him some tips/comments when we were in the pub after the walk. I think the
site is pretty much spot on Andy. Fast to load up and the java stuff of you and
Dan is good. All it could do with to spruce it up a little, is some more small
photos in the pictures section with some of the locations you go to, that people
can view, and perhaps some spooky buttons at the top to replace the plain red
hyper links. Something themed like ghosts, or tombstones with the words on for
HOME and PICTURES etc, other wise leave well alone as it works fine the way it
is! Kind Regards Simon and Lois....

attending ie crossing roads and various pavement obstacles. Thanks again from

I was great fun, all thanks to our guide 'Andy Dextrous'! I was scared and
thorouoghly amused all at once! Was lucky enough to go for a drink with him
after in The Swan, very nice bloke. Made our time in York all the more
memorable. Would recommend this to anyone-forget about the rest of the ghost

A very entertaining evening! The stories were great, the theatrics even
better and the practical jokes-very unique for a ghost hunt!! The follow up at
the White Swan was a great way to end the evening, getting to know some of the
other ghost hunters and our host, Andy. Would recommend the hunt to everyone,
even those of a nervous disposition! Cheers Andy for a really great night. Sarah

seriousness was taken for the stories, we were offerd to go back to a pub for a

fun in York. Excellent and recommended. I am taking my teenage children next

I recently went on a expedition to york, I had been many times, as we live in
Lincolnshire, but had never tried a ghost walk. So when a group of us four
guides on the 18 july 2004 took part we were in for a treat. The tour was great,
we are still talking about it and I hope to return for my birthday on the 5th
september, with my family. we tried another walk it was the original one, it was
absolute rubbish! we ran off because it was sooo dull, we should have gone on
yours again! I will be recommending this tour to everyone. I am going to try out
the ghost walk in lincoln to see if it meets with the standard of this! Thanks
for a great night, keep up the good work!

Having been to York on Thursday 23rd Sept and doing the ghosthunt which
started at the Shambles. Myself and my husband had a great time, the atmoshpere
was excellent and soley created by the beauty of York city and our guide. Laughs
and old stories were brought to life and encouraged you to want to see more. It
started to rain but that didn't ruin a thing, if anything it added to the
experience and with an old pub like the White Swan to dry off in the ghosthunt
couldn't of been better. Diane and Craig McBain, Peterculter, Aberdeen, Scotland

My ten year old son, James and myself have just come back from a few days in
York. For us the two highlights of our trip were your wonderfully spooky, funny
and informative ghost walk and the York Dungeon. Your Ghost walk was simply
excellent and with many other things in York proving quite expensive, superb
value for money. The gruesome ghost stories were told with a fantastic
theatrical turn and then just as the shivers were trembling down your spine, our
guide had us laughing out loud. I would recommend it to anyone. I would consider
a return trip to York just to experience the Ghost Hunt all over again! Best
wishes to everyone involved, Lindsey Shelton

I would just like to say how much we enjoyed ourselves on the ghost hunt on
Saturday 25th June, it was fantastic. It was my son's 10th birthday so we bought
him and a few of his friends along it was a 'hit' the best birthday party ever.
We laughed, we listened, we were thrilled. Thank you. I have already reccomended
it to all my friends.

This Ghost Hunt is informative and entertaining in equal parts. Our guide was
very professional and the tour was enjoyable with lots of fun and definitely a
very good bargain. We saw some intresting back streets with lots of atmosphere.
I liked the part with the knife, done most skillfully by Mr Dextrous. I also
liked the Roman part at the Treasurer´s House. Dimitri Papastavrou Stockholm,

We were up from Bristol for our wedding anniversary. York is a wonderful
place, we didn't have a second when there wasn't something interesting to do or
see without leaving York's glorious walls. Thank you for a great evening--
fascinating and frightening, amusing and witty, but very telling of
Dicken's world of the workhouse, poverty and disease. Not the world of
chocolate-box window displays and cosy tea-shops which we sp enjoyed today in
your fair city. ...We'll be back!

My dearest beloved and I thoroughly enjoyed the ghost hunt. We both had a
severe case of "Boab's Dreep"* due to sub-zero temperatures but we had
fun anyway. We would highly recommend the experience to anyone of any age - it's
very funny and superbly presented. F & K, Scottish Borders. *"Boab's
Dreep"; Scottish. Translates as "Bob's Drip"; the drip that
appears on the end of the nose (esp.on old men) when it is particularly cold.
